Canada's Privacy Act

Some Parklane customers may not be aware of the extensive functionality in our application to assist organizations in protecting their data.

Occupational Health Software stores personal/medical information and it is crucial that your organization comply with Canada’s Privacy Act and the various acts within the provinces. i.e. PIPEDA, PIPA, PHIPA, etc.

Federal:

Failure to comply can result in fines up to $100,000.

Provincial:

In most provinces, failure to comply can result in fines up to $100,000.

In Ontario, failure to comply can result in fines up to $500,000.

Software cannot be certified for compliance, but must provide the tools to assist your organization in governing compliance. Parklane does that through restrictions in security, user/timestamp on information modifications (including medical), user/timestamp on every data screen accessed, user/timestamp on every report/export/graph selected, audits, logs, and data destruction.
